It has to do with the fact that these cars, new, were very expensive. Not many people that really wanted one could afford them until they came down in price a little. Now that we can buy a hella nice Z for less than the going cost of new cars today, "we" are the ones who wanted them way back in the day and the ones who are buying them. The problem is that we are buying in a thin market caused by the high price of the vehicle when it was new, which was also the demise of the Z32 in the US. Not many people know them well, those who do usually love them, owning one or not.. I get compliments on my car all the time from a wide range of individuals; elderly, young, middle aged, etc etc and some know the Z and some dont. Most people who dont know the car that ask what it is are under the impression it is a new model car. I could probably tell them it is a "Fidanza BOV" (LOL) and it's a 2002 model and they'd believe me and still think it's a beautiful car... : but have any Z owners noticed that Z's are not popular. : dont get me wrong ...I LOVE Z's and everything ....but lets just say ....if i was to mention "I just bought a nissan 300zx" to some friend. They will response ..'oh good' and about 10 sec later ...'wat kinda car is that' and i just think in my head....they are hopeless. : Unless you are 'into' Z's and sports cars maybe, you dont know wat 300zx is or if it exists. : May be because its kinda 'extinct'? Which is NOT a bad thing for a car. Im proud to have my Z even tho its an NA. : just wanted to share that. : any thoughts? anyone? : p.s. the VP of Human Resources at my company saw me with my car in the parking lot and one day he stopped me in the hall and appreciated my car and said that he always wanted one. and we talked a loooonggg time in his office about cars. so i guess I dont have to worry that much about getting laid off. :)
